Road Trippin'
It's late and I'm home from a day on the road. I've been visiting with family and friends who reside in one of my favorite cities in the world, Wellington. It's the capital of New Zealand (for those of my overseas buddies who don't know that!) and it's also got to be one of the windiest cities in the country. I didn't realize until I got home tonight and walked the faithful pooches around the block in the stillness of an Auckland evening, how affected I am by the swift movement of air.
I thought the 'frazzled feeling' I'd been experiencing had to do with the number of whirlwind breakfasts, lunches and dinners I'd done while I was away - in fact, it had nothing to do with my frenetic social schedule and everything to do with the fact that my hair spent four days whipping itself around my cheeks and nose.
It's perfectly still as I write this and the only thing bothering me is the Retriever, who's beside himself with joy that I'm home.
Suffice to say, I thoroughly enjoyed my trip to Wellington, the sun shone and the skies were clear blue the entire time we were there.
I shall return - much like the wind - on a regular basis.
