New Year Blog Hop!

New Year is a time of sun, sand and sailing for me and not all in that order! I'm writing this at one of the special places I love to visit, Kawau Island. Kawau is a small island north of Auckland - almost a place time has forgotten. No roads, very few people (except at the height of summer) and a way of life so relaxed, sometimes it feels as if time is going backwards.
Happy 2013 greetings from one of the spectacular places in the Antipodes.
Tell me about somewhere special to you at this time of the year and I'll put you in the draw for a $5.00 ebook voucher from an etailer of your choice. Make sure you leave your email address in the post - so you'll be in the draw for my giveaway and the grand prize draw:

1st Grand Prize: A Kindle Fire or Nook Tablet
2nd Grand Prize: A $300 Amazon or B&N Gift Card
3rd Grand Prize:* A Swag Pack that contains paperbacks, ebooks, 50+ bookmarks, cover flats, magnets, pens, coffee cozies, and more!
*The third prize is only available to US participants - sorry all you other international folks!

New - CATCH out now:
Tamsen Parsons is happy with her wacky world. So she leases fish to big business, her bedroom resembles a gypsy fortune-teller’s caravan and she’s got the roomie from hell. Still, the sun’s shining and she can smile.
That is until uptight lawyer Matthew Solomon rolls in like a storm. He’s over the corporate climb, unsure what he wants in life anymore and the sexy and cheerful Tamsen is exactly the short-term tonic he needs.
What Matt doesn’t count on is his interfering mother, Tamsen’s out-of-control best friend and falling in love.
Can a gypsy fish-minder really bring this bad-boy to heel?

This time of year it is cold and frozen where I live, but if I could be anywhere else, I would be just north of Seattle, Washington with my family. Michel_Lee_King(at)yahoo(dot)com

Hi Mary Thanks for stopping by and a happy new year to you too. Toni

Hi Michel Brrr... Snow! We're basking in hot summer temperatures here at Kawau. The sun has risen on another scorcher. I don't think I'll be long out of the water today. I can't imagine how cold snow is - it doesn't snow here at all. Toni

Oh... I'm in Brazil so, it's summer here right now. :) New Year's is fireworks at the beach. My special place, is in my beach house.... it's just a big change to leave a 9 million people city and spend summer vacation at a 10000 people town. Happy 2013 for you! Oh, I just got your book on amazon, it did sound interesting! morebooksthanlivros@gmail.com

Hi Isabelle in Brazil ;-) 9 million people - wow!! There's only 4 million people in the whole of New Zealand. Your island get away sounds like a great idea. Thank you for buying my book - I do hope you enjoy it. Let me know, I love to hear from my readers. Toni

Happy New Year, Mel. There's nothing more romantic than a roaring fire on a cold winter's night!

Home. I love home. Although some days I wish it were a bit more tropical. zenfoxflowerATyahooDOTcom

Hi Sandra, I'm having a great New Year, holidays are always fun!

I Googled photos of Kawau Island and it looks lovely, especially the waters. Happy new year :) bedsidelight ATgmailDOTcom

Kawau is stunning and a special place, MC. A front came through this morning, bringing much needed rain. The mist hung low over the water. It looks especially beautiful when this happens.

super kewl giveaway, thanks for participating! jennirv4967 at gmail dot com

What a fascinating way of spelling 'cool'. I thought for a moment it said 'Kiwi' which is a colloquialism for a native New Zealander... Interesting what the eye sees. Thanks for stopping by, Jennifer.

Happy Nw Year and thank you for sharing your love and your soul with us in your books! angelheart618@gmail.com

Happy New Year! ~*Drea*~ dreabecraft(@)aol.com

I hope 2013 is good to you, Drea.

I'm always happy anywhere as long as it is with my husband during this time of the year. We have many special places but the most memorable one is on our honey moon in Vegas where we shared our first New Years together. We've been married 15 years now and it still feels like we are newly weds - LOL mrsqueentutt@gmail.com

Aw, Ronda, that is so sweet. You've had fifteen wonderful new years with your man and my wish for you is that you both have many more together. <3

Oh a mind is a terrible thing to waste! In the real world in California, sometimes cold and sometimes hot. On the 1st of the year I'm using what God gave me and the latest book in front of me. Where am I? Where ever the book takes me. So..... where are you taking me to this year? HAPPY NEW YEAR TO WRITER'S AND READER'S ALIKE! Judy strawberryrose@earthlink.net

Judy, isn't that what is so wonderful about a book - it can transport you anywhere! In CATCH, Matt and Tamsen will take you to Melbourne, Australia and Auckland, New Zealand. In PRIVATE LOVE IN A PUBLIC PLACE, you can visit Fiji, Australia, Singapore and whole host of European countries with Julian and Mags and the band. Where are my characters going to take me this year? The possibilities are endless. But I can tell you that in RETURN TO ALA MOANA BEACH, Ty and Lulu will take you to Hawaii. There are just so many virtual places to visit!

A place that is special, almost magical to me is my home in Colo. This time of year more so because it has the snow, mtns, forests of pine trees and that wonderful smell. The lights seem as bright as the stars and the air is so clear and crisp. Being here in the Ca desert just isnt the same . I hope your new year is full of warm and loving memories, peach_hugs@yahoo.com

Hi there Toni - what a great name ;-) Snow, mountains and forests of pine accompanied by clear skies and crisp, clean air sounds like a wonderful combination. There are so many special places in the world. It's great to meet another Toni!

At this time of the year, the only special place for me is home. In case you're wondering, home's in Europe :) Happy New Year! anasmithblue@gmail.com

Hi Mimi, Europe used to be home for me as well - I was born in England. It's taken me years to get used to New Year in the southern hemisphere - but it feels like home now. Happy New Year to you too.

This time of my reading chair is a very special place for me!! I love cuddling up with my snuggie and a cup of hot cocoa. And sometimes my cat joins me! grapeapril75(AT)gmail(DOT)com

Hi April, my cat used to sit by me on the couch when I was reading. Unfortunately, we lost him to cancer this year... :( he's still sadly missed. There's something special about a cuddle and a hot drink, isn't there?
